The Variable home loan offers a standard variable interest rate that is tailored to your risk profile. It has a flexible term of up to 20 or 30 years, giving homeowners the opportunity to settle their debt early or borrow further.
Unlike a fixed-rate home loan, the interest rate on the Variable home loan is variable as the name suggests, which means it fluctuates – this is determined by changes in the Johannesburg InterBank Agreed Rate (JIBAR) that is reviewed quarterly on predefined reset dates – your rate may not necessarily increase or decrease on these dates, but will generally be in line with rate changes made by the South African Reserve Bank.
