SA Home Loans Foundation
The SA Home Loans Foundation was established to unify the efforts of the companies within the SA Home Loans group, our employees and fellow business partners towards the common purpose of changing lives for the better through the promotion of social development and the alleviation of poverty in our communities.
Foundation Focus Areas
The primary focus of the SA Home Loans Foundation rests on three essential focus areas with the objective of:
- Investing in education to improve the potential for income generation and reduce poverty.
- Investing to support the development and growth of small businesses which are essential for employment creation which helps to reduce poverty; and
- Contributing and offering support to help and show care for those in need especially during times of crises.
Foundation Highlights
In response to the hardship caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the SA Home Loans Foundation partnered with the organisations below and responded to the call on poverty alleviation, food supply and the provisions of hygiene and medical supplies:
The SA Home Loans Foundation
SAHL Foundation pledged funds to the Solidarity Fund which was formed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, our assistance went towards ensuring sustained humanitarian support for those whose lives have been disrupted and support for the national health response equipment and PPE for front line workers.
The pledge made by the SAHL Foundation to FoodForward SA enabled FoodForward SA to intensify food provisioning efforts and reach as many households as possible.
The contribution made by the SAHL Foundation to the Dennis Hurley Centre assisted the homeless in the Durban area with much needed shelter, basic medication and hygiene products.
The pledge made by the SAHL Foundation to MASA was an additional hand in providing relief assistance to those most vulnerable, in communities of Gauteng with food support and protective gear.
The support from the SAHL Foundation ensured that C.A.S.T. was able to extend its relief services to combat poverty and to ensure food security for poor households in targeted communities around the eThekwini Metro.
