I've worked for myself since 2007 and if any of you are self-employed you will know the nightmare it is to get credit approval. I had an unpaid invoice for Virgin Mobile for over a year (for R135!) that I was unaware of, which made a negative mark on my credit record. All the banks instantly declined me despite a credit score well within the requirements - the major banks would not even hear my story, "the system said no". I applied with SAHL and received incredibly helpful support from the staff; they told me to obtain a letter from Virgin saying I have settled the bill, within a number of days my loan was approved - 95%! No contest.
