Business Intelligence Developer

Key Responsibilties

As a Business Intelligence Developer at SA Home Loans, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data solutions that drive meaningful business insights. You’ll work alongside our Data Engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable analytics, leveraging the latest cloud and data technologies.

Key Outcomes

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define key performance indicators.
• Develop robust data models and ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data.
• Design and maintain canonical and semantic data models aligned to business and integration needs.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy through validation checks and reconciliations.
• Monitor and optimise the performance of our data environment for efficiency and scalability.

Minimum Requirements

1. Education

• BSc in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or BCom in Business Information Systems (BIS) or A high-quality Technikon Diploma will also be considered.

2. Experience

• 3–5 years’ experience as a BI Developer in a large organisation (financial services preferred).
• Strong foundation in data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, Airflow.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight).
• Knowledge of data virtualisation; experience with Denodo is an advantage.
